Dunja Relić

Trainee Solicitor

My Story:

I am currently a trainee solicitor at Mercurae, where I am completing my SQE studies while developing hands-on experience supporting both our team and clients. My work spans drafting legal documents, conducting research and contributing practical insights across a range of matters. I combine this foundation with a strong interest in legal technology and AI, shaped by my experience working at a legal tech company, where I deepened my understanding of how technology can streamline legal processes and support better client outcomes.

Before joining Mercurae, I studied Law at the University of Liverpool, graduating with a First-Class degree. My academic achievements, together with my early exposure to legal innovation, have shaped a proactive, solutions-focused approach to client service and collaboration.

How I Help Clients:

I believe that strong, proactive relationships and smart use of technology sit at the heart of effective legal service. I focus on understanding the challenges clients face, applying thorough research, clear communication and an adaptable mindset to support matters efficiently and thoughtfully. My aim is always to add value, whether through drafting documents, practical problem-solving or contributing structure and clarity to fast-moving work.

Why Mercurae:

Mercurae reflects a modern, agile and human approach to legal practice; one that values innovation, collaboration and genuine partnership with clients. It’s an environment where I can combine my legal training with my passion for legal tech, learn from exceptional practitioners and contribute to a model of legal services that feels forward-thinking, purposeful and aligned with real business needs.

Outside Work:

Alongside my legal career, I am the founder of When Life Gives You Lemons, an initiative created to equip first-generation immigrant girls with the skills, confidence and support they need to thrive beyond education. This work has been recognised in three prestigious lists:

  • Brummell Magazine's One’s to Watch 2024, highlighting rising talent across London;

  • WeAreTheCity’s Themis20, recognising 20 women in law in partnership with Norton Rose Fulbright; and

  • WeAreTheCity’s Rising Stars Editor’s Choice Winner 2025

I also love to travel and explore new places, and I’m happiest spending time with friends and family over good food and wine!
